I really want a sign that says

Save an Electron, Kill a Tree

posted near an electric hand dryer, and similar sign that says

Save a Tree, Kill an Electron

over the paper towels.

It would just be cool (and yes, I realize that electrons don't die, but are merely excited to a higher energy state, thereby allowing them to move about freely through the wire . . .  but it's funny this way).

So. (I'm not sure of the science of this but I like the idea, so if this comes out not right tell me) Can I make one to put over a tally printer?

"Save a Tree, Kill an Electron" ? Because that would just be awesome.

Sure you can. Ignore the science (says the scientist) because it is just too funny. And if anyone says, "but you aren't really killing the electron," reply with "I know that, but it's terribly funny in any case."

Since it's a tally printer, would it be Kill a Tree AND An Electron? *confused slightly*

I don't think it matters. Just go with whatever is funnier, and ignore the science. I think it would be amusing to put "Save an Electron, Kill a Tree" with the printer. Because it would sort of make sense. But you're right, the poor electrons are suffering along with the dead trees. Or, since they are actually being excited, and being excited is a good thing, maybe it could say "Kill a Tree, Send an Electron to Nirvana". My physics teacher used to say that all the electrons see a postive charge, and say "Nirvana!"
