this crazy life

I have a job for the next five weeks (which is good). But it is crazy because I was called on Thursday morning and asked if I could come in Thursday afternoon to learn a bit. From someone who I'm kind of covering for, who is gone for five weeks. Oh, and the office was in the middle of moving locations temporarily because of some remodeling that is happening. Also, this is at the same place where I've been doing temp work to cover for someone who is gone half the time (unpredictably so), and I'm still covering for her because it is technically the same department. I think it will be good, but I'm currently feeling a bit frazzled.

On an unrelated note, changing one's name is a ridiculously long and complicated process. I changed my name with social security the other week, and last Friday went in to the DMV where I spent an hour waiting in various lines so I could change my driver's license. I have a temporary license until my new one arrives. I feel that I'm in this weird limbo because none of my credit cards or checkbook or anything match my driver's license, but I don't think I can change them until I have my new, permanent driver's license. *sigh*
