I tend to keep things where I need them. My car has chapstick, kleenax, a pen, paper, coins, a parking pass for work, and directions to various places. Those are all nifty things, but I don't need them with me all the time. My checkbook lives in my desk, because I use my credit card for most purchases. My music is on CDs in my car, or CDs in my roommate's CD player.
