Dollhouse

I thought the second episode of Dollhouse much better than the first. The characters were more interesting, I found the story itself more engaging, and there was more of the Joss Whedon quirky sentence construction and brilliant wit. Also, Whedon already is drawing me into liking the characters, as one of my favorite characters almost died, and that would never happen in a typical second episode of a show, but with Joss Whedon, you never know. Echo is becoming more interesting as a character, and I expect that she will continue to become more interesting, but I think so far one of the weaknesses of the show is that the main character has no real personality to like or dislike. She doesn't really exist (although she is beginning to exist).

I find Dollhouse itself to be really horrifying. All these people running around pretending to be gods and manipulating people for their own ends, and not even with the compunction of Wolfram and Hart who at least knew that they were evil. That's another reason why I'm not so much into the show. It's like watching the inner workings of the Initiative, only more so. Dollhouse is just so *wrong*, and there's no goodness as of yet to balance it out (with the possible exception of the FBI agent). But I'm definitely more hooked than I was a week ago.
